ABOUT NICK
Nick Dal Canto is a Professional Saxophonist, Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Educator with a Degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Nick spent over 6 years in Los Angeles performing, film scoring, studio recording, and more. Nick has been a member of multiple big bands and small ensembles which have collectively garnered 17 Downbeat awards and 6 'Best of State' awards, to name a few. Nick has won multiple outstanding soloist awards, and has been a featured performer at famous venues all across the world, including but not limited to: The Apollo Theater, Umbria Jazz Festival, Puerto Vallarta Jazz Festival, Telluride Jazz Festival, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington Competition.
Nick has also been a private teacher and ensemble director for over a decade, and several ensembles he associate directed have won multiple Downbeat and Best of State awards. Currently based in Albuquerque, Nick is continuing his professional career as a musician, composer, and educator.
